Thanks for your post. I’m not sure what you’re asking. Adding a field to a web form is not all that difficult, however there must be back-end PHP code to process whatever is submitted. If you can explain a bit more about what you are trying to accomplish, I may be able to point you in the right direction.
I would like know how to do the same—and if I may add to the statement made by jimfire—that is, to display custom user meta fields within the registration tab. There are other plugins that offer this but I like how WP User Control is simplistic. If it were possible to render additional fields in-line for sites that require a bit more information from the new user, this plugin could be top-notch. In my case, I would only need the ability to hook into the forum to display fields that have been defined in my theme’s function.php file.
It would be really useful if you could add captcha or some other bot challenge to the registration page as I am starting to get some bot registrations. If they become too many I will have to turn this plugin off which is not what I want to do.
Thanks for your post. Adding a captcha challenge capability is definitely on our roadmap for WP User Control. In the interim, you may find that using a custom login URL will cut down on forum spam posts, though it will not prevent bot user registration.
